Our history has a deep-rooted tradition of mentorship at all career levels, assisting high school and undergraduate students get into medical school, medical students with their residency applications and interviews, and staff physicians with peer mentorship. We arrange workshops, create application guides, facilitate mentorship relationships and opportunities, and support international medical graduates in a model that emphasizes equity, accessibility, and paying it forward to Canada’s future physicians.

Medical School and Residency Application Workshops

Each summer, we gather diverse voices from different medical specialties and that have recently gone through the application process to assist medical school and residency applicants create professional and effective applications and personal statements. Hundreds attend each year and have been successful, benefiting from valuable insights, unbiased advice, and without the high price tag of private consultation services.

Interview Preparation Workshops

At the start of each year, we host interview preparation workshops through chapters across the country to help candidates with interview invitations practice their interview skills and receive immediate feedback and tips on their performance.

1-on-1 Mentorship Matching

Our ever-growing network of Muslim medical professionals includes medical students, trainees and practicing physicians in various specialties across Canada. We facilitate individualized and mutually rewarding 1-on-1 relationships between matched mentees and mentors based on needs and interest, many of which have sown the seeds for successful careers.

IMG Support

International medical graduates have unique challenges and barriers that need to be overcome before successfully integrating into the Canadian health system. Our network of IMGs that have successfully matched to competitive residency programs or that are currently in practice assist with application review, exam (NAC, MCCEE, USMLE, TOEFL or IELTS) preparation, interview practice and mentorship to support this unique and enriched cohort.

Canada Summer Jobs Opportunities

Through the Canada Summer Jobs program, our directors and committee leads supervise and mentor youth to plan and execute our ongoing projects and initiatives, providing them with valuable paid work experience while expanding their skill set.

These opportunities are only available to youth already eligible to work in Canada, and are not open to international students.
