Help at their warehouse in Oakville
Physicians and nurses willing to come every three or four weeks to sort medical supplies. They would look at various drugs and equipment and let the volunteers know what they’re for so they can be sorted appropriately before supply containers are sent overseas·.
Help inside Turkey at border with Syria
They need family doctors and pediatricians to provide primary care
Help inside Syria
They need the following types of physicians:
- Neurosurgeons
- General surgeons
- Orthopaedic surgeons
- Plastic surgeons
- Any constructive surgeons
Process
The overseas stints are 1-2 weeks long. The process involves:
- Sending your Licenses (medical and specialty)
- Sending a copy of your passport
- Purchasing a flight ticket (the only item UOSSM does not cover
What UOSSM takes care of for you (paid for by them):
- Accommodations
- Food
- Pickup and Dropoff at the airport
- Everything in between
Many physicians from Alberta have already gone overseas and UOSSM can provide their contact info to anyone interested in finding out what it is like over there before deciding. They are open to any physicians, Muslim or non-Muslim.
