Community Health Ambassador Program (CHAP) with the Muslim Medical Association of Canada
The Muslim Medical Association of Canada is launching a nation-wide community health education program where we bring up-to-date, evidence-based and religiously-relevant health information to the Muslim community.
Each month, we plan a talk on a relevant issue in health, presented by Muslim medical experts. For the month of September, we are hosting LifeSavers (An overview of basic life support that every Canadian should know). Future talks include topics such as Diabetes in Ramadan, Managing High Blood Pressure, Cancer Screening, Hair Care with Hijab etc. The talks are currently scheduled over zoom and are livestreamed to Facebook.
As an ambassador, you participate in making this information easily and freely accessible to members of your community. Each month, we will create a custom flyer with your institution’s logo that you can share – this gives your members unique access to be able to ask questions and give feedback on the event/future programming. Once our event goes live, you will share the event to your Facebook page. As an ambassador, you can also request monthly themes and topics that we will do our best to incorporate.
We are experts on health and medicine. You are experts on the needs of your own community. Partner with us to bring relevant health education to your community. For any questions, please e-mail education@muslimmeds.ca
